What Is Force-Free Training?
Force-free training is the most up-to-date, science-based approach to training and behaviour. Put simply, it means training animals without force, coercion, threats, intimidation, or pain — and without doing anything that would cause an animal fear, panic, or harm.
That means no choke chains, no pinch, prong, or shock collars, no physically manipulating an animal into position, no pushing or pulling them by the leash or collar, and no kicking or hitting them with an object, a foot, or a hand in a misguided effort to win compliance.
Why Choose Force-Free Over Balanced Training?
You may have seen trainers get fast results using intimidation and force — invoking fear or panic, or punishing an animal until the unwanted behaviour stops. So if it "works," why change?
