Help us open an outreach hub!

 What's going on?

We are opening a shop, we have leased 2/277-287 Barkly Street, Footscray.

This is a site we will use a volunteer space, a space to fundraise and run our services out of.

Opening this space is a huge risk for us financially and it is crucial for us to get the word out and fundraise for this space.

Ultimately we felt it was inevitable that we couldn’t continue to expand our outreach services and grow as an organisation without a designated space our volunteers can work, engage and operate our outreach services out of.

how will the space work?

This space at the start will open one day per week to the public on Saturdays. The shop will be open for members of the public to buy merch, collect free pet food from our free pet food pantry and volunteers can come in, pack pet food and organise supplies for our free parasite control and paws & provisions.

Monthly the paws & provisions program starting November will run out of the space.

Volunteers can access the space on other days to work and drop off donations, it will start with only Saturdays open to the public and grow from there.

Just opening the shop and turning the lights on costs us $35,000+

The other fit out costs will vary on our capacity and fundraising. We will need things like a fridge, shelving, tables, cupboards, safe, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, pest control, paint and to remove a wall in the space. The estimated minimum cost is $10,000.

We have already spent $11,000 on the deposit and rent. It is crucial that we fundraise for the rest to make this achievable.
